Eery and dreary Halloween decor is just not my game. My kids, at their young ages, already know that I get freaked at their large rubber spiders and bats. Seriously, do they need to make these things so realistic looking?!

So while I am no fan of spooky Halloween fun, I can totally handle cute spiders, friendly bats and googly eyeballs any day. Bring it on [adorable] ghouls!!

There was absolutely no fear when I put together this $6 Halloween wreath. Check out my ghoulish frugal fun…

Host football tailgate party at home with football themed snack bags | DazzleWhileFrazzled.comOne of my favorite memories of dating my husband was attending Saturday football games together. Let me be clear: I had great fun going to all the pregame tailgating parties. Come the actual football game, I would spend more time checking out the crowd, eating my endless pit of popcorn and eyeballing the team’s mascot on the sidelines. Good thing my then boyfriend was smitten enough to overlook my lack of game attention!

Now with a trio of kids and a much busier life, our football days are all about staying home with the game on in the background. However, one can still get into the spirit of fall ball with an easy at-home tailgating party complete with brown paper bag football-themed snack bags and refreshing drinks like Coca-Cola® and COCA-COLA® ZERO SUGAR.

And be sure to check out these 10 Tailgating Tips for a fun-filled Game Day…at home!

DIY Fleece Halloween Ghost Pillow

INSIDE: How to make a Halloween ghost pillow cover with fleece for fall Halloween home decor.

Use fleece to make an easy ghost Halloween throw pillow | DazzleWhileFrazzled.comI’m scary serious when I say that ‘spooky’ is not a game I play at Halloween. Let’s just say I still think about the horror movie I watched at an 8th grade sleepover, like, way too many years decades ago. Weird, I know. But that’s how I’m wired.

So needless to say, I much prefer cutesy Halloween decor. And a friendly ghost, like Casper or this fleece fella right here, doesn’t cause me to remain wide eyed come night fall. Learn how to make this ghostly guy….

INSIDE: How to make a Halloween witches cape using a men’s large t-shirt. Easy Halloween kids witch cape costume idea.

Make an easy witches cape for Halloween from men's large t-shirt | DazzleWhileFrazzled.comOf all the holidays, Halloween was never my favorite. I was just not into dressing up and having people looking at me. (Go figure. A wallflower with a blog all these years later!)

This all changed when I had kids. When I realized how much fun it was to dress up a chubby baby in a pumpkin costume with mom and dad posing as farmers, or to pretend to be a gnarly group of pirates. Suddenly, I was all about Halloween!

But, we have a rebel in our midst. My oldest stamped her Converse clad foot down last Halloween and declared the end to her going in theme. So while the rest of us went in a fire(man) theme, she went as a wicked witch….shooting flames out of her homemade broom? I’m reaching to make it work. Brouhaha!

DIY Chalkboard Plate Charger Flower Wreath

INSIDE: DIY chalkboard plate charger door wreath with fabric flowers made from fabric scraps.

Use chalkboard paint to make a writable plate charger wreath | DazzleWhileFrazzled.comThere’s nothing I like more than taking Item A and transforming it into Item B. That’s how I felt about a metal plate charger, inherited from a relative’s house sale, that spent much of its new life sitting in our garage gathering dust.

As often happens for us, once we can no longer squeeze two cars into the garage, we find ourselves doing a weekend purge. And that is how this dusty plate charger was discovered!

With a can of chalkboard paint and a pile of fabric scraps, here’s how I turned a formerly silver plate charger into a writable front door wreath…

How to Decorate a Wagon or Bike for 4th of July Parade

INSIDE: How to decorate a wagon or bike for a neighborhood 4th of July parade.

How to decorate a wagon or bike for 4th of July neighborhood parade | Dazzle While Frazzled.comWe moved into a fun and dynamic neighborhood a couple of years ago. Having lived in something of a “blah” neighborhood for too long, it was super exciting to parade down our main community street decked out in all things Red, White and Blue.

Let’s just say – at that time – our kids weren’t super adept at bike riding. And taking off downhill, with limited skills, was not exactly going to happen regardless of how much they whined and begged.

So mom enthusiastically sold them on taking the wagon to the neighborhood 4th of July parade instead. Womp, womp. Here’s how mom (aka: yours truly) turned our all-terrain sports wagon into something patriotic enough for Uncle Sam himself!
