How to Make Valentine’s Day Card Holder from Six Pack Box
Whether it’s root beer or craft IPA, cardboard six pack carriers have many uses outside of transporting your BYOB to a get-together.
You can use these boxes to hold napkins and plates at a dinner party to organizing office supplies. So the next time you’re at the grocery, pick up a six pack of something refreshing and start the Valentine’s Day crafting.
So I drive carpool. Yes, I load several kids each afternoon into the minivan for the most raucous 12-minute drive home of.my.life. I usually emerge from those few minutes more frazzled than I was before I set off on the school pick-up journey. And it is one of these carpool boys that has turned out to be my daughter’s first crush. Standing out from her stack of Valentine’s Day cards, in block elementary school print, were the words “troo love” written on the back of this boy’s card. So cute, as I snap a photo to text the carpool boy’s mom, while my husband clutches his chest and falls into a chair. Don’t worry dad, her googly eyes go unnoticed. Oh, the dramas of 7 year old love!
Supplies:
– Cardboard six pack carrier
– Ruler and clear tape and craft scissors
– Cardstock paper (Here’s an assortment of Valentine’s scrapbook paper for all types of crafting)
– Valentine’s Day stickers (These glittery heart stickers can be used all year long)
– Pipe cleaners and pom poms
how to repurpose six pack carrier into a valentine’s day box
Cut the dividers within the six pack.
Turn the carrier over and tape the sides so the carrier stands straight and upright.
Measure of the height and width of the carrier and cut the cardstock paper accordingly.
Cover the front and sides of your six pack.
Since the red cardstock didn’t fully cover the sides, I used a second piece of paper to finish up the sides
Sketch out some wings. These will be attached to the inside of the six pack so ensure they fit within the six pack.
Once cut, create a fold. Glue the folded part and affix to the inside of the six pack.
Decorate the wings to make it look like a butterfly with paper scraps and Valentine stickers.
Cover the carrier handle with some cardstock. Create a hole for easy carrying.
Create antenna using pipe cleaners and pom poms. Affix to the inside of the six pack with tape.

I hoard all sorts of cardboard (don’t all crafters?). Had only been using my six-pack carriers to hold markers, but this looks like a great upgrade!

Cute idea! I love that it is a butterfly. I didn’t know if Valentine boxes were still a thing these days but I’m glad they are. My kids are grown but, packrat that I am, have saved the boxes I made with my kids when they were little and they bring back lovely memories. (The one I made with my older daughter is covered with butterflies).
