INSIDE: Make an easy summertime fiesta-inspired door wreath with paper napkins and hot glue gun. Colorful summertime home decor.
If you walked into my pantry right now and looked up to the very top shelf, you’d see two beverage containers stuffed to the ceiling with party
crap stuff. Paper plates, plastic cups, streamers …and more paper party napkins than I’ll probably ever use in my lifetime!
If I had a nickel for every cocktail and dinner napkin I own, I’d be able to buy myself something pretty. But I really don’t want to be rich in paper goods!
So when the top shelf of the pantry starts to look like it could quickly become a hazard, you pull out the glue gun and make a wreath. Like this…

How to Make Festive Summer Wreath with Paper Napkins
This fiesta wreath, originally made for Margarita Day/Cinco de Mayo, formed the foundation for this 100% paper napkin wreath.
Maybe keep a couple of bandages on hand (these are pretty cute!) as hot glue burns happen. I know. I’m really selling this craft!
how to make a summer fiesta door wreath
This project is Round Two of this Cinco de Mayo fiesta wreath. As you can maybe tell from the rough-lookin’ napkins, I ripped off all Cinco de Mayo items.
Follow those instructions to wrap the foam wreath with the napkins and secure with the straight pins.
Open up a paper napkin. Cut it down the middle for two pieces. Fold each piece in half lengthwise.
For paper flower version #1: Make small slits along the folded end of the napkin. Roll into tight rosette shape. Secure the end with a dab of hot glue.
For paper flower version #2: Roll and twist the paper napkin half. Roll into a tight circle shape. Secure the end of more hot glue.
Arrange the various paper napkin flowers along the wreath form and adhere with more hot glue. (Have you had to pull out a bandage yet?!)

With the flowers in place, it’s time to add the finishing touches to the bow. (Please refer to this project for photos of how this large paper bow was made.) But in a nutshell…
Unfold ONE time each three paper napkins. Layer on top of each other. Unfold a fourth napkin and fold onto itself to form a long narrow rectangle. Use this to secure the bow together. Secure with glue and/or straight pins onto the foam wreath.
Use one more napkin to form the ribbons coming out of the bow. Secure to the wreath with pins.
Who knew de-cluttering and de-stashing could be so crafty?
