Autumn front porch decorating ideas and outdoor fall decor. This post was sponsored by Lowe’s as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
I love autumn! After suffering through our hot, dry Arizona summers, autumn is a welcome change… even if we are still running around in shorts and flip flops. As soon as September hits, it’s time to start thinking orange pumpkins and hardy fall mums.
As much I enjoy decorating for the year’s various holidays and seasons, it’s also nice to get longevity out of those decorations that spend most of the year stored away in the garage. It’s a lot of work to haul those boxes of decorations out, right?!
So from Labor Day through Thanksgiving, those pretty mums and bright orange pumpkins can enjoy prime real estate on our front stoop as a welcoming sign of (fingers crossed!) cooler weather, changing leaves and, maybe, sweater weather.
How to Decorate Your Porch for Fall Easy and Quick
About a year ago, our city built a bridge through the desert. “So what”, you may be saying. Well, this bridge allows us to get to our local Lowe’s store in about 5 minutes, which is where we Weekend Warriors tend to spend a lot of our time! And this is where I headed to bring a harvest touch to our front porch.
My first stop was Lowe’s Garden Center, where I soon found my shopping cart overflowing with gorgeous, huge mums in their own decorative pots. I especially liked finding these yellow mums that came with a “Welcome” sign!
I love that I can reuse these decorative flower pots once the mums are no more.
I surrounded my welcoming mum with vintage polyurethane craft pumpkins and other small plants.
DIY harvest decor ideas for a front porch
With a winding walkway leading to a courtyard, passersby will see our front stoop long before they ever see our front door. And this is where I hauled an old, rusted out wheelbarrow that I commandeered years ago from my father-in-law. I filled this awesome piece with large mums and pumpkins. (Don’t have a vintage wheelbarrow at your disposal? Get the same look with any garden cart!)
What says ‘harvest’ best than the iconic scarecrow? Found this cute guy in Lowe’s Harvest Fall department, where I gave him prime real estate to scare away those pesky birds and desert wildlife!
